We have everything and yet we are still so discontented with our Lot. Why?????

There has never been a time in human history when we have had it so good and yet all indicators tells us that people are not happy with their lot. Anxiety in the workplace is overtaking depression as the most significant inhibitor to our wellness and loneliness is touted to become the biggest challenge. Think about why this could be?

  • is mind training that was practiced by our ancestors to alleviate suffering
  • Is training for mind fitness and agility
  • is about cultivating an awareness of what is really happening, not imagined or perceived
  • is living in the present moment (here and now, not on auto-pilot or ruminating)
  • helps us manage our thoughts and emotions reactions to life events
  • open-minded (non-assuming, non-judgmental and accepting)
  • Curious and helps us grow our wisdom

Our world is becoming more complex by the day. Businesses are becoming more reliant on the knowledge and performance of their people to succeed. According to Peter Drucker, the productivity of knowledge worker will be the next frontier of management as we move away from our reliance on manual workers.  There is growing body of scientific research and evidence that the practice on Mindfulness is helping to address this productivity issue. Multinational corporations like Google, Barclays, Deutsche Bank, Apple and Yahoo are providing mindfulness training for their employees and Executive Management such as Bill Ford Jr., Michael Stephen, Robert Shapiro, and Michael Rennie are all known practitioners.
